Samui Elephant Jungle Sanctuary
Enjoy the company of an elephant in Samui at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. We promote the sustainable and ethical way of treating elephants and our little elephant village in Samui is an example of that. Our trained English-speaking guides give visitors insight into the behavior and the personal history of our elephants, while our mahouts help people realize incredible life experiences such as bathing elephants or feeding them by hand.
The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is nearby Bor Phud, Just 20 min from Samui international airport. You can visit the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary at two different times during the day. The morning visit takes place from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm and the afternoon visit takes place from 12:00 to 16:00 pm. The package deal includes one traditional Thai buffet meals, pick up and drop off to your accommodation in Samui (terms and conditions apply), drinking water and even food for feeding the elephants
When you arrive at the Sanctuary, the guides will give you a basic overview of the tour, our elephant welfare programs, some information about the elephants and then traditional Karen clothes to wear during the tour. Since the tour can get messy and wet (in a very fun way!) we suggest that you bring some things with you.
You can also bring a camera with you but if you’re worried about taking photos with the elephants you need not worry. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary offers a photography service at no extra charge.
Throughout your visit at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, you will be feeding, bathing and even touching with the elephants. It is also important to us that you learn as much as possible about the elephants and why it is important to protect them. With the money we raise from visits and donations, we can contribute to elephant welfare. We rescue elephants, feed them, provide veterinary care as well as land and infrastructure for them to live on.
Morning Visit
07.00-07:30 Pick up from your hotel or accommodation in Samui.
07:30 Drive approximately 20-50 min.
08:00 Arrive at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui. Enjoy a welcome snack, sip tea or coffee, and learn about elephants as you are given an introduction to our program.
08:15 Assist with the preparation of natural dietary supplements for the elephants.
08:30 Meet the elephants. Feed them and administer dietary supplements as you learn their stories. Play, interact and take photos with the elephants in a natural setting.
09:00 Watch elephant enjoy their Mud spa.
09:30 Swimming with elephants
10:00 Join the elephants in our specially constructed outdoor “Elephant Shower”
10:20 Use our facilities to take a (regular) shower, dry off, and change clothes.
10:30 Eat a lunch of traditional Thai food, freshly cooked Pad Thai, and seasonal fruit, before saying goodbye to the friendly elephants.
11:00 Leave the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui.
12:00-12:30 Drop off at your hotel or accommodation.
Afternoon Visit
12.15-12:45 Pick up from your hotel or accommodation in Samui.

* Please Note: At the Sanctuary, we will allow you to spend as much time as possible with the elephants. Therefore, there is no formal schedule and aside from pick-up times, the times shown here are approximations.

It was a great experience! Hotel pick up was on time. Guides were welcoming, funny and providing great tour. All afternoon was interactive-we prepared food for elephants, than feeded them. Afterwards there was a light snack and brushing and mudding the elefants (you get totaly wer and muddy, but they ste bacic showers disponible).We were allowed to take pictures as much as we wanted-the guides respected we did not want to be posted on their FB and even took us a photos and videos on our mobile. At the end we cooked together a topical local salad and were provided wide range of dinner (rise, chicken, tofu, vegetable, fries,fruit) It was great experience (even for our 5y old son). Higly recommended!

You could see all staff were dedicated to the elephants care and well-being. A truly magical experience to be able to get so close and be able to touch and interact with the elephants. Thoroughly recommend it and would do again in a heartbeat. Thank you all x
