Mae Taeng River
8Adventures has a beautiful riverside campground and fantastic camping facilitates. There are not too many places in northern Thailand that have camping like this right next to a beautiful river, So if you want to get back to nature for the night this is a wonderful place to do it. The Mae Taeng River is the best whitewater rafting in Chiang Mai and in Northern Thailand. It is nice to really enjoy that and soak up an extra with an overnight stay with us. We have hot showers lots of bathrooms and all the camping equipment you need. We welcome you to come out and stay the night and enjoy the view of a full night sky od stars and peaceful ambiance of the stream flowing by
Rivers in Thailand
Thailand has so many beautiful places but it is not so well known for whitewater rafting, But Thailand has many beautiful rivers. Thailand does not have snow capped mountains so al the rivers are rain fed meaning they go up real high when it rains and then get real low when there is no rain because there is no slow release of snow to keep the river full. There are natural springs so the main rivers of Thailand have water in them all year round but large differences with heavy downpours.
This is something to be weary of around rivers in Thailand if you are exploring on your own make sure there is not a big storm system coming in or some major weather event going on upstream of you because flash floods do happen here.

What to wear / What to bring
Please remember a change of clothes as you will get wet! A swimming suit (quick drying shorts to wear over swimsuit is recommended for comfort and cultural sensitivity), athletic shoes, sunscreen, refillable water bottle, small day pack, dry set of clothes, socks and dry shoes or sandals. Get ready for the best whitewater rafting in Chiang Mai.
CAMERA INFO:
For Rafting and ATVs we have GoPro mounts on the top or the helmets. You must bring the slider attachment. For rafting if you can’t swim with it don’t bring it.
We take no responsibility for lost GoPros or broken mounts or personal cameras of any kind.
RESTRICTIONS
- All participants should be in reasonable physical condition. If you have a heart condition, back, neck, broken bones or are pregnant our actives are not for you.
- Rafting 8 km. Must be age 7 years old or older.
- Rafting 10 km. Must be age 15 years or older and able to swim. Max weight 120 kg. CE Helmets and Coast Guard Approved Life jacket are provided for all rafting trip.
- ATV Drivers : 15 years old or older.
- ATV Passengers : Must be 7 years or older depend on the ability, may be required to go with guide.
- Zipline : 7 years to 70 years Weight limit 120 kg or 260 LB. If your weights are over 100 kg. , please inform in advance. Harness information Waist size smallest 22 inch 56 cm. largest 46 inch 117 cm.
Cancellation Policy :
- Free cancellation , If cancel 3 days or more prior to departure date
- 50% total amount charge , If cancel less than 3 days prior to departure date
- 100% total amount charge , If cancel on tour date or no-show.
Amendment Policy :
- Amendment allow up to 1 day prior to departure.
- No amendment allow on departure date.
Refund Policy :
- Full Refund , In case the tour cancelled by the tour operator due to bad weather or any unexpected event.
- No refund , After commencement to travel either in full or in part will be given for untilized services included in the program.

Kerry Chan 5 Years ago (2019-07-30 22:23:43) Camera lens should be upgraded so it can zoom to target persons closely. Not sure if there is any photographer taking photos on the river for 10Km. For 8 Km, only a few photo taking points and therefore not enough photos are taken. Indeed, it is a very nice experience and the service is really good. Food and bathing facilities are good. Since we can't take photos by ourselves. your photo taking service is very very important especially for those families with kids.
